Strengthening local initiatives
We share our know-how with Polish grassroots organisations — training the Hope Foundation in Przemyśl on safeguarding and operations, co-running community centres, and showing up at the city's job fairs and picnics.

Since 2023 we have partnered with and co-developed community centres with Polish grassroots organisations in Kraków and Wrocław — the Kocham Dębniki Foundation, the Freedom Space Foundation and the LWF Foundation — supporting the Ukrainian population and empowering refugees to integrate.
In September 2024 we began working with the Hope Foundation in Przemyśl, on the Ukrainian border, to strengthen its capacity: training its management and volunteers in protection, child safeguarding and operational policies, supplying food and equipment for its transit shelter, and providing remote psychosocial sessions for residents.
We also show up where the city meets its new residents: at the Tent Partnership for Refugees job fair in March 2026, Vela's team gave career guidance, explained diploma recognition and offered individual consultations; at the City of Kraków's Intercultural Picnic in November 2025 we ran creative workshops for children.
