What the UNICEF partnership achieved

Over the past year, Vela Foundation, in partnership with and funded by UNICEF Poland, supported 16 collective accommodation sites across Warsaw, Wrocław and Kraków, ensuring Ukrainian refugees had access to protection and child protection services.
From organising activities for children to guiding individuals through social support services, employment opportunities, language courses and safe referrals to legal and GBV services, we worked to create real, lasting impact — reaching 1,717 refugees, including 580 children and 995 parents and caregivers. Beyond accommodation sites, we also supported refugees through community centres in Kraków and Wrocław.
Though this project has come to an end, our dedication to supporting refugees remains. We are deeply grateful to our partners, teams and the communities that made this possible.
